This pair of one-piece shoes is made after the find from Marx-Etzel, discovered in 1815. The dating of these is uncertain, but there are other finds that share certain elements of the design and decoration and are dated to between the 1st century BC and the 3rd century AD, although 2nd or 3rd century AD is most likely IMHO. The pattern and the decorations indicate that it is a shoe of Germanic manufacture.
